Welcome to Hopefully Uncharted!

Hopefully Uncharted is a monthly collection of (hopefully) less explored but super inspiring things curated by Andrei Pastuhov.

Every month, you can discover 5 of most interesting, funny, beautiful, or thought-provoking projects, designers or artists that I have come across. As a bonus, you can also check my “Image of the month” and favourite long-read.

So whether you're a seasoned designer or just starting, looking for fresh inspiration or a new point of view, welcome aboard!

ARTICLE OF THE MONTH

1. Glitch Extravaganza

These are some super amazing, funky, colorful, ’80s-inspired, crazy graphics. Just can’t not love them.

2. Emotional Storytelling

What if you could get glimpses of the personal stories people were going through during the pandemic? Yes, it’s ‘old news’ in a way, but these stories are still relatable today and they deliver quite a profound impact.
ps: It’s all in the audio!

3. Utopian Minimalism

As someone from Eastern Europe, I used to think that these architectural landmarks had nothing to do with "Western" European architecture. And how I was wrong… From Amsterdam's Bijlmer to Alexanderplatz, or Saint-Denis, this type of building is undoubtedly a more universal experience than I previously believed it to be.

But how fun is it to build one your own? You can even add Airco’s. A super fun project by Interactive Connective Studio from Vienna.

4. Imaginative visions

Super inspiring to see this take on portrait photography by Serifa (art studio from Munchen). They have such a special calm, dream-like quality to them. And they have something even more important: they work with your imagination; which is so rare to see in (even highly edited) photography.

5. In the trend of typographic motion

Just because it’s trendy doesn’t mean it’s not cool. I do love the energy of this style: super bold, lots of action, very engaging. Though it might be getting a bit too much. Nevertheless, props to Santos Dilone for the amazing work.

That’s all.
Until next month

Cheers,

Andrei
