February 2024

Hey there.

February’s almost gone, so here’s the top 5 list for this month featuring anything between Coca-Cola and the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Hopefully Uncharted is back with #2. Enjoy!

ARTICLE OF THE MONTH

The expansion of Coca-Cola is a pretty wild phenomenon. But check out this perspective from 1950. That was 74 years ago. Three-quarters of a century. And yet, it almost feels like it’s penned today. Some stuff is just timeless, I guess.

1. Digitalisation

5 Tools for Digital Detox — Ferran Bretcha

What happens when digital becomes physical? Well, here's an amazingly witty answer to that question made by designer Ferran Bretcha. Super fun to look at and probably super fun to hold in one’s hand.

2. Design to tell a story

What stories could a couple of dots, 6750 to be precise, tell? They could tell a story, for example, about the 2022 World Cup and the people who lost their lives building it. Props to Accept & Proceed for this self-initiated project.

3. How about making things fun again

It’s great that society is striving for more simplicity and efficiency in general. But what if we’re missing something along the way? Imagine we aimed for things that are exciting, bold, and full of personality. How much of a brighter and more diverse society would we live in?
PS: This is Sesame Street teaching kids how to count to 12.

4. Static motion

This French studio has a super cool style of playing with typography. They work a lot for static media but the work itself is super vibrant and definitely has a motion character to it. Can only imagine how amazing some would look in motion 🤯

5. Full on color
